An analysis of low-energy charged pion-nucleon data from recent pp experiments is presented. From the scattering lengths and the Goldberger-Miyazawa-Oehme ~GMO! sum rule we find a value of the pion-nucleon coupling constant of f 50.075660.0007. Low Energy Compton Scattering and Nucleon Structure

The low energy virtual Compton scattering process eN → eNγ offers a new and potentially high resolution window on nucleon structure via measurement of so-called generalized polarizabilities (GPs). We present calculations of GPs within heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory and discuss present experimental efforts.

A behavior of imaginary and real parts of the high-energy elastic hadron scattering amplitude is examined in the diffraction region. It is shown that the interference between Coulomb and hadronic scattering at small momentum transfers and especially in the region of diffractive minimum can bring some information about the structure of the hadron spin-non-flip amplitude.
